Written in exile in France in 1975 during the final year of the Vietnam War, the text calls for us to practice presence and engagement in the “miracle” of the present moment, whether washing dishes, eating a tangerine, or sitting with our mind and breath. Illustrated by Vietnamese artist Vo-Dinh Mai and translated by Mobi Warren, The Miracle of Mindfulness has been reprinted in numerous editions since this original publication.
