Description

Office of Civil and Defense Mobilization. The Family Fallout Shelter. Washington DC:
US Government Printing Office, 1961. Second Edition official US fallout shelter guide.

1961 reprint of the official government-sponsored instructions for
protecting your family from nuclear fallout. A well-illustrated guide,  it is filled with blueprints for various types of fallout shelter you can build on a budget in your backyard or basement using just cinderblocks, cement, and brick. (Personally, my favorite is the one that looks like it’s halfway to an “earthship“).

A perfect quarantine read, especially great for those with children currently stuck out of school. Whether bored out of your mind or in fear for your life, this one is fun for the whole family.

Worst case scenario, you can always fantasize about being Brendan Fraiser (or Alicia Silverstone) in “Blast From the Past“. Upon reflection, that also describes just about everything in that sentence.

32pp 4vo staple-bound pamphlet with pictorial wrappers.
Some small stains on front and back wraps, creasing along spine,
wear to top and bottom edges, and creasing to front lower corner.
Fully illustrated interior clean apart from general forward curl.
Good condition.
