Morgan, Cecil L. The Psychic Implications Of Prayer. Cornerstone Foundation Inc. Mathews, VA. 1971.

In this text, Cecil Lee Morgan, a Methodist reverend who became fascinated with ESP and psychic phenomena, reframes prayer as a form of wishing and manifestation as well as an effective exercise in the practice of psychic development. In addition to connecting prayer to autosuggestion, Morgan enters into spiritualist territory by advocating for mediumistic overshadowing by “spirit teachers”  as he claims Melchizedek did for Moses among other incidents in scripture.

The spiritual director of The Cornerstones For Living research center, Morgan believed in the reinterpretation of Eastern mysticism in light of the Western mystery tradition and the goal of developing of “Christ Consciousness”.
