Scarce volume on mystic and animal magnetism proponent Franz Anton Mesmer, the namesake of “Mesmerism”, from the “Mystics and Occultists” occult history series created by notable esoteric publisher William Rider of the Rider-Waite Tarot. Fragilely bound, surviving copies from this series are difficult to come by. This volume was later reprinted as part of Three Famous Occultists which also included short biographies of John Dee and Thomas Lake Harris. In addition to this work on Franz Anton Mesmer, the author, Robert B. Ince, also wrote a biography of Joan of Arc as well as numerous works of fiction and satire, including At The Sign of Sagittarius from 1927.
