Description

Roerich, Helena. Foundations of Buddhism. Agni Yoga Society. New York. 1971.

Second edition of the Buddhist inspired writings of Helena Roerich , Agni Yoga Society co-founder and the wife of famed Russian mystic and painter, Nicholas Roerich. Foundations of Buddhism is not quite a book about Buddhism proper, but rather the Roerichs’ theosophically influenced interpretation of Buddhism, including the psychic evolution of the world which will bring about the era of the Maitreya Buddha. Fitting with this element of Agni Yoga ideology, the Sanskrit inscription chosen by Roerich for the dust jacket reads, “Maitreya Sangha.”
