An odd reference work, this book consists of the collected essentials of dental law, covering common questions and crazy scenarios in dentistry. Contents include rulings and explanations for details you may never have considered such as who really owns your X-Rays; how patient consent works when under anesthesia; what kinds of advice it’s legal to give; and “How much pain is too much for the Hippocratic Oath?” Depending on your perspective, this is a book that could either make for entertaining reading or, be an excellent new addition to your professional reference library (I might even argue for both). The author, Harvey Sarner, himself a lawyer, was awarded the Humanitarian award American Society Oral Surgeons at San Diego in 1993.
