An original creation from the founder of Ellipsis Rare Books, this piece combines multiple examples of the handwriting of occult pioneer and Thelema founder Aleister Crowley with one of Andrew Lenoir’s own xerograph creations. The text, “Every man and every woman is a star”, is one of the most humanistic portions of the Book of the Law or Liber AL Vel Legis, the Thelemic holy book, purportedly channeled by Crowley in Egypt in 1904 as the first act of the Age of Horus, and can be seen as a metaphor for the project of self-development and discovery at the core of Thelema as a magical system and religion. The original xerograph design paired with this statement shows an abstract human figure breaking through the cage-like rings of the astrological wheels.
