Gray, William G. A Self Made By Magic. Samuel Weiser. New York. 1976. First US Edition.

First American edition of A Self Made By Magic by William G Gray (1913 – 1992), occult author, ceremonial magician, and founder of the Sangreal Sodality.

Later republished as Attainment Through Magic in 1990, the text frames magic as a practice of self-search and self-creation, using the Kabbalistic tree of life as a basis for exploration and expansion. The book includes instructions for the creation of a magic circle and compass drawn from Merkabah practice, rituals for invoking Angels as “categorized consciousness”, Kabbalistic affirmations, and suggestions for the selection or discovery of an appropriate magical name.

This copy was formerly owned by occult author and teacher Raven Grimassi (born Gary Charles Erbe, 1951 – 2019) an influential figure in the modern Pagan and Wiccan communities noted for his works on Italian stregheria. In his personal biographies, Raven Grimassi would often list William G Gray as a significant influence on his magical thinking and philosophy.
