Description

Computer Mind Control Warning and Rosicrucian Invitation from The London Psychogeographical Association

London Psychogeographical Association. Bay Area Supplement: Overthrow The Kings of Silicon Valley. East London Section of the LPA. London. 1994.

Double sided single page supplement published by the East London Section of the London Psychogeographical Association, “Overthrow The Kings of Silicon Valley”. Warning that the emergence of cyberspace is not “bread and circus” but “mind control”, the document ties the rise in virtual technology to the 1970 Mansfield Amendment which limited ARPA research to non-defense purposes.

The London Psychogeographical Association (LPA), first started by artist Ralph Rumney in 1957, was revitalized by Fabian Tompsett (under the name Richard Essex) and others in the early 1990s, becoming famous for their Situationist inspired pamphlets, posters, and zines.

Printed in response to the “distorted” San Francisco Examiner article on the East London Section of the LPA  “Mystics of Avalon”, which emphasized the occult elements of the LPA work, the verso includes an invitation to a happening at the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum where no London based members will be in attendance. Attendees are advised to bring their own food and drink.

Double sided broadside. Minor wear to top edge. Clean. Very good.
