The first American edition of the foundational book of William G Gray (1913 – 1992), occult author, ceremonial magician, and founder of the Sangreal Sodality, Inner Traditions of Magic. A guide to understanding magic and developing a personal system for the pursuit of power and growth, it includes instructions for self-initiation, tool construction, building a magical circle, and creating personal rituals. The book also features a glowing forward from Golden Dawn author Israel Regardie, claiming that Gray would have been burned for the book 500 years ago.
This copy was formerly owned by occult author and teacher Raven Grimassi (born Gary Charles Erbe, 1951 – 2019) an influential figure in the modern Pagan and Wiccan communities noted for his works on Italian stregheria. In his personal biographies, he would often list William G Gray as a significant influence.
