Scarce Illustrated Kabalah Guide by Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn Co-founder William Wynn Westcott

Westcott, William Wynn. An Introduction to the Study of the Kabalah with Eight Diagrams. Allied Publications. New York. c 1950

Scarce early US reprint of an illustrated guide to kabalah by magician, theosophist, freemason, and Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn cofounder William Wynn Westcott first published in 1910.

A primer on the lore, practice, and cosmology of kabbalistic mysticism, the text includes eight diagrams including the tree of life, its paths, and its relations to the human body, and is based upon “lectures to a Society of Hermetic Students in 1888,” likely the Golden Dawn itself founded the same year.

Westcott was also the translator of the important kabalah text, Sepher Yetzirah: Book of Formation and Thirty-two Paths of Wisdom, first published in a limited edition of 100 in 1887.

6 copies listed in OCLC as of December 2024.

72pp. Ruddy cloth boards with gilt lettering front and spine. Crease to front board cloth. Wear to edges. Sunning to spine. Pages toned but clean. Lacks dustjacket. Very good.
