An early edition of the instructional handbook voodoo secrets by Anna Riva, containing an alphabetical glossary of deities (lwa) and cult terms with practical ritual information filed under herbs, oils, seeds, and voodoo rites. In addition to various veves and other secret signs for various dieties, the text also includes transcriptions of 10 traditional chants to Legba, Agwe, and others.
Anna Riva was the pen name of Dorothy Spencer (1992 – 2003) was one of the more prolific author of modern folk magic books of the midcentury American occult revival, particularly famous for her still sold oil and incense formulations.
