Description

Original Copy of Early 20th Century Self-Published North Dakota Newsletter Jim Jam Jems By Sam H Clark with Goat Gland Transplantation Coverage

Jim Jam Junior [Clark, Sam]. Jim Jam Jems March 1920. Sam H Clark. Bismark, North Dakota. 1920.

Scarce copy of self-published humorous newsletter “Jim Jam Jems” published out of Bismark, North Dakota from 1912 – 1929 by Sam Clark. No stranger to controversy, Clark was taken to court the first year he worked on the magazine for sending “obscene and immoral” reading material through the mail. This issue is no different, including W.E.P. Stokes’ writings on Eugenics and contemporaneous coverage of infamous quack doctor J.R. Brinkley’s “Goat Glad Transplantation”. Clark would go on to publish a screed against the Federal Reserve, The Federal Reserve Monster, as Jim Jam Junior in 1930.

63pp. Staple bound pamphlet with printed paper card wraps. Wear to spine with losses at top edge. Soiling to faces, front top corners creased. Pages toned but clean. Very good.
